On July 30, 1995, New Zion Christian Church held its first church service led by founder and Pastor Jamie T. Pleasant with the support of his wife Kimberly S. Pleasant. The vision to start NZCC was received by Dr. Jamie T. Pleasant in early 1995 as he served God as a preacher, teacher, lead vocalist, and counselor at Ben Hill United Methodist Church in Atlanta; as youth pastor and teacher at Tranquil AME Church in Douglasville; as chaplain of the National Black M.B.A. Association–Atlanta Chapter; and as host of the Urban Uplift Christian radio program. Dr. Pleasant believed that his spiritual training and background coupled with his extensive business knowledge and education were necessary tools to teach, equip, and empower individuals to transform their lives and their communities for spiritual and economic growth.
New Zion Christian Church is changing the world one life at a time and we are glad you have decided to join us! From Apostle Jamie Pleasant’s message in the worship service to the bonding and fellowship that is promoted in our programs, New Zion Christian Church is an exciting and insightful experience in Christ.
